Jacquelyn Potts

Jacquelyn Potts is the owner and director of Performing Dance Center, which she founded in 2009. Born and raised in northern Virginia, Jacquelyn has been passionate about dance since the age of three. Her training spans ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, tumbling, and tap, and she enjoys teaching dancers of all ages and levels. She continues to draw inspiration from her students and their growth both in and out of the studio.

Jacquelyn earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she double majored in Kinesiology and Interdisciplinary Studies in Dance Performance. While at William & Mary, she was both a performer and choreographer in two dance companies, and her choreography has been commissioned by several high school dance teams, earning her numerous choreography awards.

She went on to receive her Master of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance from the University of Utah, where she was awarded a teaching assistantship, taught undergraduate dance courses, and performed regularly. Following graduate school, Jacquelyn toured internationally with the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company’s Nikolais Dance Theater. From 2010 to 2023, she served as an adjunct professor in Utah Valley University’s Department of Dance, and she has also taught at Westminster College and Salt Lake Community College.

Dedicated to continuing education and safe training practices, Jacquelyn is certified through Acrobatic Arts in Preschool Acro as well as Levels 1–8, and Progressing Ballet Technique.
