Jacquelyn Potts

Jacquelyn opened Performing Dance Center in 2009. 

Born and raised in northern Virginia, Jacquelyn has been dancing since the age of three, and has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and modern. She enjoys teaching all of these styles to children and adults, and continues to find inspiration from her students.

Jacquelyn attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Kinesiology and Interdisciplinary Studies in Dance Performance. While at William & Mary, she was a performer and choreographer in two dance companies. Jacquelyn has been commissioned to choreograph dances for several high school dance teams, and has won numerous choreography awards for her work.

She received her Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Modern Dance from the University of Utah where she was awarded a teaching assistantship, taught undergraduate dance courses, and performed regularly. Jacquelyn was fortunate to tour internationally with Ririe-Woodbury Nikolais Dance Theater after graduate school.  She is currently an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University's Department of Dance and has also taught dance courses at Westminster College and Salt Lake Community College.
